The collapse caused some minor damage to the structure.
“Our structural engineering team will be assessing this area in the days to come to determine the work required to repair the area,” said the employer.
“Most importantly, due to construction crews following safety protocols and processes, we are pleased to report that all construction personnel are safe and were moved away from the area immediately.”
The concrete gave way and the rebar caught the workers, said Jason Fawcett, president of the Kelson Group, in a Radio NL report.
“A couple of them had to climb up a little bit as the rebar sort of bent down. We’re just thankful that everybody’s ok.”
