Surrey hospital to acquire surgical robot

Dr Ahmad AshrafiSURREY, BC – The surgical program at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) is set to acquire a new state-of-the-art da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System and to establish a Regional Robotic Surgery Program in the South Fraser region.

To make this vision a reality, the Surrey Hospitals Foundation has launched a $5.5-million campaign to purchase the robot. Recently, the Foundation raised $1.53-million towards this cause at their 8th annual Celebration of Care Gala.
