I’m excited to share something really beautiful and profound with you today that I discovered while hiking up the sacred Mount Inari in Japan.
In the Shinto philosophy, or “way of the gods”, I learned that Inari is revered as the deity of rice, abundant harvest, fertility, success in business, and prosperity.
Mount Inari and the Fushimi Inari shrine is not only a physical location, but also a profound spiritual site that is seen to be the sacred dwelling place of Inari.
The approach to the top of Mount Inari through the famous Fushimi Inari shrine is lined with 10,000 vibrant vermilion torii gates, symbolizing a transition from the mundane world to the sacred realm of Inari at the top of the mountain.
