Alberta invests $10 million in healthcare AI lab

Nate GlubishEDMONTON – Alberta’s government is investing $10 million over the next three years to advance artificial intelligence and data-driven health solutions.

The funding will support the Health Innovation Lab, a new initiative delivered by the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii), enabling up to 12 projects annually that harness Alberta’s AI expertise to improve patient outcomes and health system efficiency.

The Health Innovation Lab will accelerate the development and adoption of new technologies to reduce wait times, expand healthcare capacity and improve patient outcomes for Albertans.
